Smoked Macaroni and Cheese Seasoning

This seasoning blend enhances this classic dish with creamy cheddar cheese flavor and smoky bacon flavor.

Makes 4 servings. 23 g (0.8 oz)

This product should be stored in a cool (<21 C or 70 F), dry (<60% RH) area to provide maximum shelf life without loss of taste or functional characteristics.

Powdered cheddar cheese flavor (milk, salt), Dehydrated vegetables (garlic, onion, chives), Irradiated spices, Smoke flavor.

All you need:
- Macaroni seasonings (included)
- 250g (1 cup) macaroni
- 45 ml (3 tbsp) salted butter
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) flour
- 375 ml (1 ½ cups) milk
- 125 g (½ cup /4 oz) cream cheese
- 500 ml (2 cups) grated cheddar cheese
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) breadcrumbs

All we do:

Preheat oven to broil. Reserve 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cheddar cheese. Cook macaroni in a large pot of boiling salted water for 10 minutes. While pasta cooks, melt butter in cast iron skillet over medium-low heat, add seasonings, then flour and stir well. Whisk in milk, increase heat and whisk constantly until mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add cheeses and stir until melted. Stir in cooked, drained macaroni. Sprinkle reserved cheddar and breadcrumbs on top. Broil to melt cheese topping until crispy.
**For extra color and vitamins, add frozen baby broccoli to the boiling water and cook at the same time as the macaroni. Or for even more smoky flavor, add crispy bacon bits to the cheese sauce just before putting under the broiler.
